DTI Buying Mission Strengthens Market Access for Sorsogon MSMEs
SORSOGON, Philippines — The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Sorsogon Provincial Office, in partnership with the Bureau of Market Development, Promotions, and OTOP (BMDPO), successfully staged the 2025 Buying Mission in Sorsogon on June 25–26, fostering vital market linkages between local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and Manila-based buyers.
This year’s mission welcomed esteemed buyers including Tesoros Handicrafts, Roots Collective Store, and The Good Store and Café. Together, they engaged with a diverse group of MSMEs representing both food and non-food sectors, resulting in ₱133,000 in cash sales, ₱100,000 in booked orders, and several ongoing negotiations currently monitored by DTI Sorsogon.
Factory visits allowed buyers to appreciate first-hand the innovation and heart behind each product. Highlights included:
Gapas Food Delight’s health-conscious polvoron, now onboarded by both Tesoros and Roots Collective.
Sanig Crafts, which revived their slipper line and impressed buyers with creative prototypes using regional materials.
Rosie’s Native Crafts, whose livelihood-based fashion bags now support over 10 barangays.
Non-food enterprises like Obhetz’ Art and Crafts showcased eco-creative items like pili mushroom lamps, while Green Pasture Place drew interest with its all-natural balm line. On the food side, MSMEs such as Arellano Nature’s Farm, Sorsogon Foods Enterprises, and Triple2 Agri-Industrial Corp. presented high-quality, export-ready products.
Aside from commercial success, the mission underlined the MSMEs’ improved professionalism, seen through well-prepared brochures, business cards, and engaging product presentations—marking a leap forward from past missions.
DTI Regional Office V and BMDPO are now eyeing further support initiatives, such as affordable raw material sourcing and design development assistance. The 2025 Buying Mission reaffirmed DTI’s ongoing commitment to empowering local entrepreneurs and strengthening the domestic trade ecosystem.
